The Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine (SBSM) Developing Investigator Program, formerly the Young Investigator Colloquium, is a selective, half-day research-focused experience held at the Society’s Annual Meeting. It brings together senior mentors and postgraduate “rising star” trainees, including physician fellows, residents, postdoctoral fellows, and early-career faculty who recently completed training.
The program aims to contribute to participants’ academic success by providing an opportunity to present proposed research and receive productive feedback. Selected investigators are paired with mentors who share similar interests. Before the meeting, mentors and other young scholars in each small group review participants’ research proposals, creating a basis for focused discussion of their proposed work.
