The MD Travel Award Program is run by the Society for Biopsychosocial Science and Medicine (SBSM) to support Annual Meeting participation and career mentorship for medical students through junior faculty. The program brings together senior clinicians with a small group of four to six trainees, giving each attendee an opportunity to discuss career goals with a mentor and receive productive feedback.
The program begins in conjunction with the SBSM Annual Meeting. Selected trainees receive complimentary meeting registration and one night at the host hotel, and are invited to a Tuesday evening reception. Its emphasis is on access to experienced clinicians and career advice within the Society’s meeting, rather than funding a separate research project.
