Description
The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) established this programme in 2002 to bring early-career researchers into Antarctic research and strengthen international scientific cooperation. Fellows work with a project team in another country, gaining access to expertise at research institutes, laboratories or field facilities while developing scientific partnerships. Projects must concern Antarctic or Southern Ocean research and contribute to the objectives of a SCAR science group—including the Humanities and Social Sciences group—or a SCAR Scientific Research Programme.
Applicants may propose partly or entirely remote fellowships. The programme aims to advance understanding of Antarctica while building research capacity and connections that can continue beyond the fellowship.
