Description
The Medieval Academy of America, in collaboration with the Richard III Society–American Branch, offers the Schallek Fellowship to support advanced graduate students conducting Ph.D. dissertation research. Projects may be in any relevant discipline and must focus primarily on late medieval England, another part of the British Isles, or British connections to continental Europe. The historical period is defined broadly as approximately 1350–1500.
Established in memory of William B. and Maryloo Spooner Schallek and supported by their gift to the Richard III Society, the fellowship provides dedicated support for dissertation research and writing. It helps defray research and living expenses during full-time dissertation work. The program’s research scope and funding amount were revised in July 2024.
