Description
Schmidt Marine Technology Partners, a program of the Schmidt Family Foundation, funds the development of novel ocean technologies aimed at solving complex ocean health challenges. The initiative focuses on supporting projects at technology readiness levels (TRL) 2–6, providing tailored, long-term assistance to efforts with significant promise for impact and scalability. Its four priority areas are: sustaining fisheries, habitat health, ocean observing, and network/community support for marine technology. The program welcomes academic researchers, startups, non-profits, and other organizations working on innovative solutions, aiming to enhance sustainability, restore marine ecosystems, advance oceanographic research, and strengthen the marine tech community.
