    Description

The Scholar Program is designed to provide substantial, multi-year support to mid-career, tenure-track faculty at U.S. institutions who are in their fifth to eighth year and hold M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees. The goal is to help promising scientists advance their biomedical research to a point where they are competitive for major independent funding such as NIH grants. The program is highly selective and operates by invitation only, with a limited number of institutions invited to nominate up to two candidates each cycle. Supported research must be basic or translational in nature, and all funding must be used strictly according to the approved budget and proposal.
