Description
The Scholarly Publication Fund supports the costs of publishing research and scholarship in SSHRC-aligned disciplines at UBC Vancouver and UBC Okanagan. Administered by the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation (VPRI), it particularly supports early-career researchers in the social sciences and humanities. Priority is given to new scholarly works and monographs requiring publisher subventions—author payments required to make publication possible.
The fund also supports services and materials that significantly enhance books, book chapters, edited volumes, and journal articles. These include professional indexing, copyright permissions, camera-ready text or graphics, translations, illustrations, and preparation and reproduction of maps. It supports publication expenses rather than conducting research. Article processing charges and the costs of publishing in open access books and journals are excluded.
