Description
The Kurt Weill Foundation for Music supports performing and educational organizations undertaking scholarly or educational activities focused on Kurt Weill, Lotte Lenya, and/or Marc Blitzstein. Eligible activities include workshops, symposia, scholarly conferences, and educational initiatives at the secondary-school and college levels. Applicants may request support for participant honoraria and travel, as well as the preparation and printing of supporting materials.
The grant is part of the Foundation’s Grants Program and Collaborative Initiatives. Foundation staff review applications before an independent panel considers them and makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The panel assesses project quality, relevance to Foundation goals, the applicant’s record and capacity, personnel diversity, potential reach, and potential contribution to performance or scholarship.
