Description
The Scholars’ Travel Fund (STF) is a Campus Research Board program supporting University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign faculty who present original scholarly research and creative work at academic gatherings, including national disciplinary meetings and specialized conferences. It supports conference and presentation travel expenses for domestic, international, and virtual events, rather than research-related travel.
The Office of the Provost and the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation jointly support the Specialized Faculty Scholars’ Travel Fund (SF-STF) pilot. This expansion provides partial support for specialized faculty to present their work at one conference convening per year. The pilot has been extended through June 30, 2027, pending further evaluation. Its support can supplement, but will not reduce, professional development funds available under the Non-Tenure Faculty Coalition collective bargaining agreement.
