Description
The South Carolina Arts Commission’s School Arts Support Grants help schools acquire supplies, materials, equipment, professional development, and creative arts therapy services that address student outcomes through innovative arts practices. The program supports arts as curriculum, arts-enhanced curriculum, and arts-integrated curriculum as ways to increase classroom engagement. Grants supplement existing arts budgets rather than replace them.
K–12 support includes Visual and Performing Arts Standards materials, arts-integrated lesson resources, arts education association memberships, conferences, collaborative teacher planning, residencies, and creative arts therapy. For 4K providers, funding focuses on arts integration through residencies and related resources or professional learning. Artist residencies must include peer-to-peer teacher training that builds skills teachers can use in future years.
