Description
The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation (BWC) runs the School Safety and Security Grant program to help Ohio educational employers protect staff who teach children. It supports equipment that significantly improves facility safety and security and reduces or eliminates injuries or illnesses associated with educational services. The program partners with schools to address risks affecting employees and students.
Funding covers specified employee safety interventions, incident-response equipment, facility and grounds security improvements, and HVAC improvements that support indoor air quality. Eligible organizations operate licensed preschool through 12th grade educational facilities and provide direct instructional services to children. The program extends BWC’s Safety Intervention Grant program, whose requirements apply unless the school-safety policy specifies otherwise.
