The Schumann Family Fellowships for Art + Well-being at Ragdale are designed to support artists whose creative practice has been informed or impacted by mental health challenges and the pursuit of emotional well-being. Each year, two fellowships are awarded across any artistic discipline, providing recipients with an 18-day, fee-waived residency at Ragdale’s historic campus in Lake Forest, Illinois. Fellows receive a $1,000 stipend, private live/work space, and communal dinners, with opportunities to engage in a vibrant, interdisciplinary community of artists. The program seeks to recognize resilience, encourage innovative approaches to healing and creativity, and foster cultural exchange.
