Description
This fellowship enables original research on the cultural history of music in the Mediterranean, with a focus on the dynamic exchanges among Western European, Byzantine, Islamic, and Jewish musical traditions from the medieval era to the present. Fellows are expected to draw extensively on the unique resources of the Gennadius Library in Athens and actively participate in the intellectual and academic community of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens throughout the academic year.
