The Science Illustration Internship at Maryland Sea Grant provides immersive, practical experience in scientific illustration and visual science communication. Interns work directly with researchers and educators at Maryland Sea Grant and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES) to create illustrations that help explain complex scientific topics. The primary focus is on issues related to the Chesapeake Bay and Maryland’s coastal environments. Interns contribute to education, outreach, and communication materials and collaborate with an experienced team of science communicators.
