Description
The South Carolina Commission on Higher Education (CHE) offers the Resource Support Grant alongside its Science of Reading Seminar for FY 2026–27. Participating institutions may apply to purchase instructional materials and resources that incorporate Science of Reading practices into educator preparation coursework. The seminar supports faculty in strengthening evidence-based literacy instruction and meeting South Carolina’s Read to Succeed requirements.
The seminar is a statewide professional learning initiative designed to support early childhood, elementary, and special education preparation programs. It provides evidence-based instructional practices, implementation strategies, and lessons learned from Centers of Excellence and other successful initiatives. Resource support connects that professional learning with materials institutions can use in their coursework. CHE presents the initiative alongside its broader Centers of Excellence for Teacher Education program, which focuses on improving teacher education, particularly in rural and underperforming schools and districts.
