Applied Microbiology International (AMI) offers this grant to help members participate in local and international scientific events that advance applied microbiology. It supports essential travel, visa and accommodation expenses for AMI or AMI-approved conferences, symposia, workshops, training courses and meetings. The programme supports active contributions—such as papers, posters, oral presentations or participation as an event panellist—rather than attendance alone.
The grant connects event participation with professional development and contributions to the applicant’s scientific field. Events must align with AMI’s strategic goals, including advancing applied microbiology for societal, environmental or clinical benefit. Selection considers the relevance of the event, the quality and impact of the applicant’s contribution, and financial need. Priority goes to paper and poster presenters, early-career researchers and members from lower-income countries.
