Scientific Exchange Grants support researchers’ international laboratory visits for joint biological research, sharing techniques and accessing infrastructure to establish new scientific collaborations.

Key Information: Awardees must return immediately to their home laboratory and remain for at least six consecutive months.
Description
EMBO Scientific Exchange Grants support short international research visits between laboratories in eligible countries. The programme enables researchers to undertake joint research, gain or share expertise and techniques, and access infrastructure unavailable in their home laboratory. Its purpose is to establish new scientific relationships, rather than support consultations or existing collaborations.
Projects must have biological significance, increase knowledge of a biological process, and relate directly to work being developed in the home laboratory. Technique-only training can qualify when it supports that work. The programme is open to active researchers at any career stage who meet its research-experience and location requirements, including eligible PhD students, MD researchers, and research technicians.
