Description
Bayer Foundation’s Scientific Fellowships provide additional funding for international placements that complement current or future MSc, PhD, and medical studies. They support compulsory degree components abroad, additional research stays, internships between master’s and doctoral programs, and access to scientific techniques or specialized facilities unavailable at the home institute. The aim is to help outstanding students develop skills, gain perspectives, and build international relationships—not to fund entire degree programs.
Four fellowship categories cover drug discovery, agricultural sciences, medical sciences, and climate and health. The program supports fundamental and applied research relevant to pharmaceutical and consumer healthcare industries, crop science, medicine, and climate-related health impacts. Interdisciplinary and collaborative projects, and work contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, are encouraged. Gender equality in science is an explicit commitment.
