Description
Brain Research Foundation’s annual Scientific Innovations Award supports creative, exploratory neuroscience research in well-established laboratories led by distinguished investigators. The program funds basic and clinical work on brain function in health and disease, including normal human brain development and specifically identified disease states. Its scope includes molecular neuroscience and neural, sensory, motor, cognitive, behavioral, and emotional functioning.
The award targets new projects that may be too innovative or speculative for traditional funding but have a high likelihood of producing important findings. BRF encourages senior investigators to explore ideas that could substantially change a research area. Supported investigations are expected to yield high-impact findings, significant publications, and successful applications for larger grants from NIH and other public or private funders.
