    Description

The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation (FBCF) funds pilot research addressing underexplored scientific and clinical breast cancer issues. The program seeks projects that could revolutionize understanding or treatment of breast cancer, with transformative impact in the near or long term. It particularly encourages work on prevention, susceptibility, protection, recurrence, and metastasis, supported by a sound research strategy.

FBCF favors new or first-time applicants and collaborative, integrated multidisciplinary or multi-institutional research. Its 2026 priorities encompass basic, clinical, and translational research; environmental links to breast cancer in Florida; novel epidemiological studies; psycho-immunologic mechanisms; and innovative ideas. Special emphasis areas include vulnerable populations, comorbidities and treatment-related adverse effects, novel targets, cancer immunotherapy, and genetic screening and risk assessment.
