Description
Maryland Sea Grant’s Sea Grant Spark Award provides small awards to help graduate students cover expenses associated with scientific research and career advancement. The program combines research support with professional development, supporting costs such as research materials, analytic services, conference travel, and other travel expenses. It serves students enrolled at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science or in the University System of Maryland’s Marine Environmental Estuarine Science graduate program.
Supported research must be relevant to Maryland and Maryland Sea Grant’s Strategic Plan. The award connects students’ immediate research and professional-development needs with the funder’s priorities for Maryland’s coastal resources, communities, and workforce.
