Description
Section 306A Coastal Resources Improvement Grants are part of the federal–state partnership established by the Coastal Zone Management Act. The grants are made available annually to the South Carolina Coastal Zone Management Program through the South Carolina Department of Environmental Services.
The program supports preservation or restoration of areas the management program designates as being of particular concern, redevelopment of urban waterfronts and ports, public access to coastal beaches and other public coastal areas, and a coordinated process for regulating and permitting aquaculture facilities. Eligible work can include property acquisition, low-cost construction, engineering designs and specifications, and management activities such as education.
