Description
The South Carolina Department of Environmental Services presents Section 310 funding within the federal–state partnership established by the Coastal Zone Management Act. The funding supports technical assistance and management-oriented research to help develop and implement amendments to South Carolina’s coastal management program.
The Coastal Nonpoint Pollution Control Program is jointly administered by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency. It establishes management measures for polluted runoff from forestry, agriculture, urban areas, and marinas, as well as runoff associated with hydromodification and riparian areas. Section 310 connects that work to the technical and management needs of the state’s coastal program.
