Description
The Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) administers Section 6 Rare Plant Conservation in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Federally funded through the Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation Fund Traditional Conservation Grants Program in Region 2, it supports work to preserve, steward, conserve, and recover rare, threatened, and endangered native plants in Arizona.
The program focuses on native rare plant populations and the habitats important to their long-term survival. Its cooperative approach reflects the importance of non-Federal lands to species that spend part of their life cycles there.
