The Section Community Engagement Grant Program is designed to help sections of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) organize events that foster meaningful engagement with local or broader communities and extend the reach of anthropology beyond the AAA Annual Meeting. Grants provide funding for both in-person and compelling virtual events, encouraging innovative, inclusive programming open to all AAA meeting attendees. Funding can be used to offset costs such as event space rental, food, AV needs, local transportation, or honoraria for community leaders. The program aims to strengthen connections between anthropologists and the communities they study or serve.
