Description
Secure More in Sports is administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) through the Pennsylvania Tourism Office. It reduces the cost of marketing, bidding for, and acquiring rights to new sporting events that generate tourism and media visibility across the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally. Qualifying events include sporting competitions, youth and amateur league events, international and national events, and e-sports.
The grant is one of four programs within Marketing to Attract Tourists. Its sports-specific priorities include outdoor recreation and events drawing substantial attendance relative to the host community’s size. Events should bring a large influx of visitors staying at least two nights; competitive review prioritizes events encouraging more than two overnight stays.
