Description
New Mexico EPSCoR’s Seed Awards support transformative research and capacity building through Research Infrastructure for New Mexico (RIO-NM). The program funds research equipment, student researchers, research supplies, and student conference travel. Its goals are to strengthen research capacity, including cyberinfrastructure, improve productivity and competitiveness for external funding, and increase access to meaningful student research experiences across New Mexico.
Projects should align with the New Mexico Science and Technology Plan or the National Science Foundation’s Research Focus Areas. Priority goes to novel research initiatives likely to produce publications, research grants, and workforce pathways. Projects expanding research opportunities for undergraduate and community college students are encouraged. RIO-NM also strengthens connections among higher education, national laboratories, industry, nonprofit organizations, and government.
