    Description

The Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) offers Seed Grants to foster innovation in brain injury research. Its research grant program aims at “Finding Cures for Chronic Brain Injury,” supporting work on the long-term consequences of acquired brain injury rather than proposals addressing only acute injury processes. For the 2026 competition, BIAA emphasized interest in both animal and human projects and welcomed secondary data analysis.

Young Investigator Seed Grants support the background work needed to establish a new research direction, with a study mentor’s assistance, and prepare for larger public or private funding opportunities. Brain Injury Scholar Seed Grants allow experienced principal investigators to supplement existing research by testing a new hypothesis, adding a cohort, or analyzing existing data. Scholar grants are not intended to bridge gaps between other grant funding.
