Summary: Supports China-based researchers conducting clinical research in oral tissue regeneration to advance preventive, patient-centred diagnosis and treatment.
Key Information: Applicants must be based in China and affiliated with a Chinese higher education institution.
The Osteology Foundation’s Seed Research Grant supports clinical research in oral and maxillofacial tissue regeneration. It aims to bridge basic science and clinical practice through the development of medical and dental treatments, therapies, diagnostics, and care delivery. The programme emphasises preventive, personalised approaches, patients’ oral health and well-being, and active patient participation in research. Interdisciplinary collaboration between basic scientists, clinicians, and research groups from different institutions is encouraged.
The stated 2026 priorities are biological functionalisation of regenerative biomaterials, excluding dental implants, and prognostication of regenerative wound healing. These encompass biological modifications that accelerate regeneration and the use of biological markers, signals, or molecules alongside clinical outcomes to predict healing and improve recovery. Projects outside these priorities remain eligible if they address oral wound healing and tissue regeneration.
