Description
The National Humanities Center’s Select Summer Residency Program gives scholars four weeks of concentrated time to jump-start or make substantial progress on a current humanities project. Faculty from sponsoring institutions work in individual studies at the Center in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, with library staff available to obtain books and other research materials.
The residency combines independent research and writing with exchange in an interdisciplinary scholarly community. Residents can attend optional weekly sessions on topics including writing praxis and scholarly publishing. Institutions may use the opportunity to support work at different career stages, including progress toward tenure, a return to a long-term project, or research after heavy teaching or service.
