Description
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Selected Professions Fellowship Program supports women pursuing their first master’s or professional degree in fields with historically low female participation. It funds advanced study in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and specified medical professions at eligible accredited institutions. Supported academic plans may include coursework, specialized training, clinical or applied-practice experiences, professional development, and research.
The program emphasizes scholarly excellence, achievable academic and professional plans, and long-term impact in STEM. Applicants should demonstrate commitment to advancing opportunities and equity for women and girls, contributing through collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing, and remaining engaged in their disciplines. Special consideration goes to applicants intending to serve under-resourced populations and communities or pursue public-interest work.
