Key Information: Clinicians are ineligible to apply after May 2026; only UK-based research institutions are eligible hosts.
Description
This fellowship is designed for established, non-clinical cancer researchers aiming to further develop their independent research programmes and build an international reputation as leaders in the cancer research field. The scheme funds a wide range of cancer-relevant research areas, including basic biological, preclinical, imaging, radiotherapy, engineering, physical sciences, population research, and early detection. Priority is given to proposals addressing strategic needs such as early detection and cancers of unmet need (e.g., brain, lung, oesophageal, pancreatic, liver, and stomach cancers). Fellows are expected to lead their own teams, foster collaborations, and contribute to research integrity and open science.
