    Description

This fellowship is designed to enable established group leaders to further develop their independent research programmes and build international reputations as leaders in cancer research. The scheme welcomes ambitious, cancer-relevant proposals spanning basic biological research, preclinical studies, imaging, radiotherapy, engineering and physical sciences, population research, and early detection. Strategic priorities include early detection and research on cancers of unmet need (e.g., brain, lung, pancreatic). Fellows are expected to lead independent teams, develop collaborations, and demonstrate potential for significant impact on cancer understanding, prevention, diagnosis, or treatment. The scheme emphasizes career development, leadership, and research excellence, with a mid-term progress review for support and mentoring (not tied to continued funding).
