Description
The Senior Citizens Housing Development Fund (SCHDF) is administered by the Alaska Housing Finance Corporation to enhance safe, affordable, and accessible housing options for Alaska’s senior population. SCHDF awards grants through two main programs:
- Greater Opportunities for Affordable Living (GOAL): Supports the construction of affordable rental housing for low- to moderate-income seniors and families, offering grants, federal tax credits, and zero-interest loans.
- Senior Access Program (SAP): Provides grants for accessibility modifications (e.g., ramps, grab bars) in existing homes occupied by qualifying seniors.
