Description
The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) presents this annual travel award to recognize outstanding research efforts by medical students and encourage interest in careers in academic surgery. It recognizes completed research across basic science, clinical research, outcomes, health services, and education, including work within surgical subspecialties.
The program connects recognition of student research with participation in the Academic Surgical Congress. Six recipients receive travel assistance and complimentary congress registration, with three awards for basic science projects and three for projects across the other research fields. Recipients also receive an award certificate at the AAS Awards Session and recognition on the association’s website and blog, The Academic Surgeon.
