Description
The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation’s Senior Research Awards support established researchers investigating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. The program funds preliminary data generation to help investigators compete for support from other sources, such as the National Institutes of Health. It seeks findings that advance understanding of IBD causes, mechanisms, treatment, and prevention, with particular emphasis on human IBD mechanisms in preclinical research.
Applications are directed toward basic or translational research; clinical research applicants are referred to separate clinical research opportunities. Funded investigators may also gain no-cost access to IBD Plexus biosamples and research-ready datasets, including pediatric and adult clinical, patient-reported, genetic, and other molecular data.
