    Description

The Neurological Foundation’s Senior Research Fellowships support outstanding early-career postdoctoral researchers to establish themselves as independent researchers at institutions in New Zealand. The programme provides personal salary support rather than equipment or project working expenses, with an emphasis on developing researchers and their careers.

Supported research must contribute to understanding, prevention, diagnosis, prognosis, treatment or management of diseases and disorders of the central or peripheral nervous systems, with a clear outcome that adds to neurological knowledge. Research into the pathogenesis of neuropsychiatric and neuropsychological disorders is also eligible, but work solely addressing management of mental health disorders is excluded. The Foundation prioritises potential advances in the field, neuroscience capacity building and positive outcomes for people affected by nervous system conditions.
