Description
The Senior Scholar Release program is an annual competitive award administered by John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Office for Advancement of Research (OAR). It provides dedicated time away from teaching for tenured Associate Professors and full Professors pursuing a major scholarly outcome or creative project.
The program supports planned scholarship and creative work during the academic year following the award. Rather than providing direct funding for project expenses, it offers course release to faculty who have no other source of teaching release. Applications must explain the planned work and why it requires the requested release time. The Research Advisory Council reviews proposals, and OAR announces award decisions.
