Description
The LEO Foundation’s Serendipity Grants enable current grantees to investigate novel and unexpected discoveries or ideas emerging during an ongoing Foundation-funded project. The program creates room to explore findings outside the original project’s scope, potentially beyond the applicant’s primary research focus. It targets ideas at an early stage of maturity that would be unlikely to receive support through other LEO Foundation funding programs.
Supported work spans all aspects of life science research, from basic molecular understanding to translational and epidemiological studies, clinical implementation, and technology development. The aim is to mature an unexpected observation into a basis for further investigation, with potential for scientific or clinical breakthroughs. The program is announced annually in open competition.
