Description
The Sexual Assault Services Program (SASP) is a federal program administered in Utah by the Utah Office for Victims of Crime. Created under the Violence Against Women Act and the Department of Justice Reauthorization Act of 2005, it helps establish, maintain, and expand rape crisis centers and other programs providing direct support to survivors of sexual assault.
Funding supports services intended to help survivors of any age with healing, safety, and long-term recovery. These include crisis intervention, 24-hour hotlines, advocacy through medical and justice systems, short-term counseling, referrals, and culturally specific outreach. Programs may also support children and survivors’ family or household members.
