Description
The Human Self-Enhancement and Empowerment (HSEE) Theme Round supports organizations conducting technical research on self-enhancement technologies and philosophical research on how those technologies should be used. Organized by the Survival and Flourishing Fund (SFF) in collaboration with Jaan Tallinn and Survival and Flourishing Corp, the round is funded by Tallinn.
The program emphasizes people’s capacity to enhance their own bodies and minds, particularly through intelligence enhancement, so humans can keep pace with artificial intelligence economically and ecologically. Its goal is to help individuals and humanity continue thriving and innovating rather than being replaced by AI. Research priorities include how enhancement technologies should work, which ethical frameworks should guide their development and deployment, and which technologies offer the best prospects for helping humans everywhere thrive in the AI era.
