    Description

The Office of Grants and Research (OGR), within Massachusetts’ Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, administers the Shannon CSI Local Action Research Partner program. Local Action Research Partners (LARPs) help Shannon Community Safety Initiative site directors, steering committees, and funded partners assess and improve operations through strategic thinking, critical analysis, and continuous feedback.

The broader Shannon CSI program incorporates the OJJDP Comprehensive Gang Model and supports regional, multidisciplinary approaches to gang violence through prevention, intervention, law enforcement, prosecution, and reintegration. LARP work includes action research, evaluation support, community and youth risk assessments, reporting assistance, and sharing evidence-based practices. Partners help sites keep activities within scope, on schedule, and within budget while using research and data to guide program strategies.
