Description
Share with Wildlife is a New Mexico Department of Game & Fish program, now administered under the department’s New Mexico Department of Wildlife name. Established in 1981, its mission is to help wildlife species that do not receive funding from other sources. It supports four types of work: biological and ecological research, wildlife education, habitat enhancement, and wildlife rehabilitation. Projects must take place in New Mexico and focus on non-game wildlife.
The program encourages research addressing issues affecting Species of Greatest Conservation Need (SGCN), with specific interests identified in each Call for Project Information (CFPI). It also welcomes habitat restoration practitioners, permitted wildlife rehabilitators with existing programs, and environmental educators developing or implementing wildlife-focused curricula. Share with Wildlife has consistently supported nine to 11 projects per funding cycle.
