Description
The Shared Technology Awards, administered by the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Resource Allocation Program (RAP), are designed to fund the purchase of large, single pieces of equipment or integrated systems that can be shared among multiple UCSF research investigators. The program also supports data hardware, software, and other technology resources that are intended for shared use. The goal is to enhance the campus research infrastructure, foster collaboration, and provide access to advanced technologies that are novel and not otherwise available at UCSF.
Priority is given to proposals that demonstrate broad impact, strong justification for the new technology, and a clear management plan for sharing and maintaining the resource. Cost-sharing from departments, multiple investigators, or other funding sources is expected, especially for expensive equipment. Awarded equipment is encouraged (but not required) to be housed in shared resource spaces for maximum accessibility.
