Description
Shared Visions Programs are state-funded early childhood initiatives administered by the Iowa Department of Education. They support healthy development, early learning and stronger families through preschool experiences and educational support for parents. The Child Development Coordinating Council advises the Department and awards appropriated funds to programs serving children and families with identified risk factors.
Parent Support Programs serve families with children from birth through age five, prioritizing those with children from birth through age three. Services address parenting skills, child development, nutrition, positive guidance, family resources, parent literacy and access to supportive services. Preschool Programs operate in 29 Iowa counties and provide high-quality early learning for at-risk children ages three to five.
