Description
The Charles & Jack Fund for LGBTQ+ Advancement is administered by the Community Foundation of Louisville to support the well-being, development, and joy of LGBTQ+ youth. It funds organizations, programs, and projects that address young people’s unique needs and foster supportive, inclusive, and affirming environments. Funding can support specific activities or general operations, helping sustain organizations and advocates serving this community.
The fund is a permanent endowment established by the late Charles Gruenberger and Jack Kersey, advocates for queer rights and HIV/AIDS education in Louisville. It carries forward their investment in the queer community, with a primary focus on Metro Louisville and secondary consideration for work elsewhere in Kentucky. Organizations do not need to serve LGBTQ+ people exclusively, but must clearly explain their work with and impact on queer youth.
