The Shock Society’s Access Award helps highly qualified underrepresented trainees attend its Annual Meeting, meet the Society, and ultimately become members. It supports meeting participation rather than a separate research project, providing an introduction to the organization for undergraduate students, graduate and medical students, and postdoctoral fellows.
The Society promotes research and education to improve care for victims of trauma, shock, and sepsis. Its members include basic scientists, clinicians, and trainees working in these fields. The Access Award forms part of the Society’s broader support for trainee and early-career development, with a specific emphasis on access for underrepresented students and fellows.
