The Shock Society’s Faculty Research Award supports faculty members early in their careers who are working toward becoming outstanding independent investigators in trauma, shock, and sepsis. Research may range from basic cellular responses to clinical outcomes, using basic or clinical science approaches to advance knowledge of these conditions. Translational research and clinical application are encouraged.
The award combines substantive research with research career development. Proposed work must have intrinsic scientific importance, but it may also include opportunities to learn the methodology, theory, and conceptual frameworks needed to develop the project. Applicants must demonstrate research interest or experience in the pathophysiology of trauma, hemorrhage, shock, and sepsis, alongside a commitment to a research career and potential for independence.
