The Shock Society’s Travel Awards help predoctoral students and early-career research fellows cover travel and lodging expenses to attend its Annual Meeting. Awards are selected based on the scientific merit of the submitted abstract and financial need. The program supports participation in a scientific community focused on trauma, shock, and sepsis, enabling young investigators to share their research with peers.
Several recipients are selected to give a three-minute talk in the meeting’s “Oral presentations by and for Young Investigators” session, addressing fellow awardees and students. All recipients are recognized at the Annual Meeting’s Award night dinner. Six recipients receive named Presidential Travel Awards, and recipients may also qualify for a waiver of publication page charges for an accepted first-authored manuscript in SHOCK.
