Shooting Range Development Grants support groups and government agencies improving Arizona’s public recreational ranges to provide safer shooting areas and strengthen hunter education and training.

Description
Created by the Arizona Game and Fish Commission in 1996 and administered by the Arizona Game & Fish Department, this program supports the development, improvement, maintenance, and operation of public recreational shooting ranges. Its goals include providing safe firearms and archery shooting areas, strengthening hunter education and proficiency, promoting safe shooting practices, and supporting law enforcement training.
Eligible work includes range development, redevelopment, relocation, noise abatement, and lasting facility improvements. Examples include safety berms, indoor air filtration and lead recovery systems, shooting stations, utilities, sanitary facilities, access roads, parking, and safety fencing.
