Description
Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s Shooting Range Development Grant Program supports establishing new shooting ranges and expanding or improving existing ranges across Colorado. Established in 2009, the program serves recreational shooters, hunters and archers while helping pass outdoor recreation traditions to future generations. It funds capital improvements directly connected to recreational shooting, including safety upgrades, additional shooting lanes and accessible facilities.
Expanding public access is a top priority. The program also emphasizes new ranges in underserved or high-demand areas, youth and Hunter Education opportunities, and access for people with disabilities. Supported improvements include berms, backstops, sound baffles, shooting benches and covers, target holders, archery trails, trap and skeet houses, storage structures, restrooms, parking, access roads, walkways, signage and fencing.
